Session: A Look Toward the Future: The Sustainable Beef Research Roadmap

Tom McDonald is the Senior Vice President of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability for Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC, overseeing environmental systems design and compliance across thirteen feedyards in six states. With a B.S. in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University and an M.S. in Beef Cattle Production and Management from the University of Tennessee, McDonald brings technical expertise in sustainable environmental systems for beef operations. He chairs the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s environmental working group, is past chairman of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, and serves on the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and the EPA Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee. McDonald is also a third-generation rancher in New Mexico.
