Session: Planning for the Future: USRSB Member Listening Session

While northwest Kansas will always be home, J.J. splits his time between Kansas City and the Kansas Flint Hills. J.J.’s agricultural and leadership skills were built on a strong foundation – growing up in a diversified agribusiness family and being an active member of both 4-H and FFA. Earning degrees from Kansas State University in Animal Science and Industry as well as International Agriculture, led J.J. into his career in association management, communicating with various agriculture and food industry stakeholders, and putting his passion for professional development to use in Curating Excellence for Cultivated Conversations’ clients.

As a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, J.J. leverages his Sensible Visionary power to work with individuals, teams, and organizations to ensure they bring their best selves wherever they Collaborate – at home, in their community, and profession.

J.J. has worked in over 30 countries with individuals and organizations from all spaces – for-profit and non-profit, public-sector and private-sector, during his career, and is a frequent presenter on consumer attitudes and trends in food and agriculture, values-based communications, and professional development. Current and recent clients include the National Institute for Animal Agriculture, U.S.  Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs, CropLife America, U.S. Custom Harvesters, and more.

J.J. is a board member of the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City and Country Club Christian Church, a lifetime member of the National FFA Alumni Association, Kansas State University Alumni Association, and Atwood Masonic Lodge, and past board member of U.S. Livestock Genetic Export, Inc. and the Cultivating Change Foundation. 

J.J. and his partner, Kevin, enjoy all things food and wine! They are patrons of Symphony in the Flint Hills and Governors of the American Royal Association.
